Diameter of exhaust pipes

What is the diameter of the exhaust pipes on my 91 camaro with V8 TBI. I measured the pipe that goes into the muffler and it seems to be 2 1/4 in diameter. I'm trying to buy a Flowmaster with 3 or 2.5 diameter inlet but am not sure if the Flowmaster will work with the existing pipes on the car. Please shead some light on the situation.

My friends TBI Iroc had 2 1/4" non mandrel bent exhaust, so I'm guessing you have the same. I would think its gonna be hard to get a flowmaster for that size pipe, and probably not worth it anyways. Why not get a hole catback with mandrel bends? The gains would be well worth the small increase in price.

I hope you're not just getting the muffler to expect 20hp or anything.

If you have 2.25'' piping, then you'll need a 2.25'' inlet muffler. Like stated before why not just buy a cat-back, you can buy a 3'' Pacesetter cat-back for $140 and throw any muffler you want on it.

check out my sig pic too.

Well its all about money and its kinda a funny story why I had to replace the muffler. If you find another post on here about a gas tank with my username as the poster you can probably figure it out why I had to just buy the muffler.
