Headman headers! Good? Bad? Details within!

Hey guys, I need to pickup a pair of headers for my 1986 IROC Camaro 305 TPI.

living in california, i need to make sure that it can be hooked up with the A.I.R. system, and all of the fixin's. hehe.

here is what i have found out about these headers so far:

Camaro (T.E.M.S.) 82-92 305-350 68481

T.E.M.S. (Tubular Exhaust Manifold Systems) are 50 state legal for years listed in catalog only.

Includes parts necessary to retain emission devices. (50 State) With A.I.R. system.

Shortie style hedder. Maximum ground clearance.

Will fit with angle plug heads (Chevy aluminum only).

Must modify rotary A/C bracket

Replacement Y-Pipe available. See page 41.

Complete with Y-Pipe to single catalytic converter.

$309.95 from summit. complete with y-pipe

Price doesn't seem to bad, and i can't afford SLP or TES right now. need a descent fix, that is (hopefully) better than the stock manifolds, complete with y-pipe, and is an easy install, which doesn't involve bending or hammering the tubes to make it fit.

I talked to a muffler shop back in denver, and they said lots of people will "ding" or bend their headers to make them fit their cars. they said they might as well have kept the stock exhaust if they did that, because in most cases, it hindered performance.

Well, anyone run these headers? or have any suggestions on another set of emmision legal headers complete with a y-pipe?

thanks!
