From what I have heard, the SLPs 1 3/4" are the best you can buy. So, if you have the money, go for those!

SLPs are the best SHORTIES money can buy. Hooker LTs will get you max perf. but will cost a pretty penny. cuz you also need to buy a y-pipe from mufflex(Bout 250) or have one custom made. also keep in mind LTs will not pass visual inspection. might pass sniffer. good luck. i havent heard any trouble with ground clearance...just b careful...mine are on the waay.

I'm using the SLP 1 3/4 right now but will be DITCHING them for a set of Hooker long tubes. Reason!! The Slp's DO NOT work with angle plug heads, i had to ding/pound the last 2 tubes on both sides to clear the plugs, but it still is close enough to be melting my wires, and i'm using some slip on wire shields also. That's my 2 cents

Slush, tell me more about which heads you have and why the headers did not fit! I have aluminum L98 heads and was considering 1 3/4" SLP headers, do you think they will fit? Did you ever try short header plugs?

Thanx for the reply guys. I was also told that the SLP's would not fit my angle plug afr's. I ended up going witht the Hooker LT's and getting them Jet Hot Coated. As for the y-pipe IRS sells one that is only 195.00.

PLEASE NOTE: There are differences in ANGLE PLUG heads in terms of the spark plug angle. As long as you have L98 Angle Plug heads thent he SLP headers will fit with ZERO problems. I am running AFR heads with the L98 angle plug and am using SLP headers and everything works great.

I have TF heads with angle plugs. My SLP 1 3/4" hearder clear the plugs no problem.

We won't talk about the steering shaft though
