new headers , now it backfires

though, once when i crossed some up i had a backfire thru the exhaust, but check those wires

Any time you have a backfire in the intake, your ignition is not firing when the piston is at or near TDC on the compression stroke. The backfire is caused from the A/F lighting off with the intake valve open. The only other thing that could cause it is a distributor a tooth or two off. And since all he did was remove the wires... backfiring can be caused by a lean condition too, ex, timing problesm, choke misadjusted.
also, burnt/cracked wires have done it to me before.
but you're right,with what he has done, i'd check the routing again

well guess what...yall were right! redid the plugs, ....stil didnt work, redid em again, worked perfectly !!! thanks for all your help. header install complete!! also had to replace the damn battery after it was done, guess my car wanted more work done:hail: :rockon: :rockon:
