question about my exhaust
ok i need to replace my exhaust from the cat back because the muffler and the pipes have holes in them. i was looking at a flowmasters 80 series muffler and it sounded nice, now i just wanted to know if that would sound as loud as my car does now (it's pretty mean sounding) and also if this would be a good choice for my car. i have an 89 RS with a 305 TBI in it and i wanna know how it'll sound. also i was looking at stainless steal tail pipes but i think i'm gonna just get the OE ones, will this make my car sound less loud, if so what kinda pipes should i get to make it sound better? thanks in advance

lol, well, his exhaust now is probably pretty loud with all the holes, even at idle, so I figured that is the exhaust that would suit him best.
If you want there is a sound clip of the Hooker in my sig.

Mark, when I played your sound clip in the hearing of my wife, she asked, "How did you record your car onto the computer?"
Viper, just get a cat-back system - you pick the brand. It will have the pipes and muffler you need. Dynomax and Pacesetter are the only ones I've heard about that are relatively "quiet", since most are intended to appeal to the animal in us.

I've decided to go with the hookers cat-back, with those used hedmans (for now)
I guess I just don't want to sound like everyone else (flows).

one other thing, my car came stock with the 3" in on the muffler and the 2.5" dual outs. i was wondering if i could go with 3" all the way, b/c my dad said that if i went 3" it would change the engine compression, and i just wanted to know if that was true and also if it's bad for the engine to change its compression?
