glass pack
glass pack
I was wondering if glass packs sound good on camaros. I have a 91 rs camaro. 355 motor headers and 2.5' pipe back to 2.5 duals. no cat and no muffler. i'm debating between a glass pack and a 80 series flowmaster. iwas wondering if the glass pack sounds good or not. Thanks

On the sound issue, that is all up to you. If you've heard glasspacks on one car you've heard it on them all. I would personally go with the flowmaster. The sound would be a lot cleaner and sounds more aggressive. The glasspacks would just be loud. Also from what I understand, even though they sell them in auto parts stores, they are illegal in some states due to sound levels. Also the glasspacks will not offer you any power increase like the flowmaster might.

right know with no cat or muffler my car is to loud and it has a hollow sound. Will the glass pack tone it down a little and get rid of the hollow sound. I want it to sound mean not just loud. Thanks

I'd leave the glasspacks alone and go with the 80 series Flowmaster. Many glasspacks are more restrictive to flow than most aftermarket performance mufflers, so unless you're just concerned with the sound, stick with the muffler. Glasspacks DO sound good, though!
my dads 69 chevelle has glasspacks bolted to full length headers. thats it. it sounds sweet. unfortunately 3rd gen fbodys arent as forgiving in undercarriage space. go with the flowmaster. it would be better for the car if nothing else.

i say you go to an exaust shop and ask them. see if the have demo pipes.the glasspacks sound good, but very "inexpensive" the reason you are getting the hollow sound is because you have no cat. drop a free flow on on and it wont give it that sound any more. i had glasspacks on my vette (only car ive owned with a 350) and it was pretty sweet. didnt make it any louder, just boomier. if i could have done it over, i would have gone with flowmasters, or dynamaxes. maybe borla, but there pretty expensive.
