changes in exhaust year to year questions
What is the difference between my 85 z-28 with TPI and a 86 with TPI? I want to get a better exhaust system but i have not seen any for my year with my motor.
can anybody point me in the right dirrection?

In '85, the cat had 4-bolt flanges on each end and I think the Y-pipe, cat, and intermediate pipe were 2 1/4". In '86, they changed them to a slip-fit connection at the front (Y-pipe to cat), a 2-bolt ball-flange connection at the rear (cat to int. pipe), and they were all nearly 3". So if I were to completely build up a new system, can I use any exhaust from any manufaturer for any thirdgen? Any If so where can I get the best system? soundwise and power wise
