After reading tons of opinions I just ordered my Hooker catback (the $200 one), just a few questions:

1) I really only chose it because I couldn't find all the right pieces for a 3" Dynomax Ultra Flo system, anybody know how it compares to this when it comes to flow?

2) What are your opinions on the tips? I honestly don't like them but haven't exactly seen them on my car yet lol, which leads to question 3....

3) I know I'll have to cut the I pipe short and have it welded up, and I may be replacing the tips with double or single angle-cuts - how much should it cost to have a muffler shop do these 3 welds? I'm installing the system myself but I can't weld so I need them to do the welds.

Your opinions are appreciated!

2) They're ugly and the way they connect looks totally cheap.

3) If you bring the pipes to an exhaust shop and just drop it on the ground they'll probably do it for like $30 bucks. Then you can just take it home and stick it on. I did this with cat and i-pipe last year. If you bring it with the car, they'll probably charge you more to lift it and put it on.

1) they probably flow pretty similarly, and without lots of serious modifications im sure you wont be able to tell the difference between the two. this is just a guess, but if i had to choose one, i would say the dynomax. but, again there would be very little difference. besides, hooker sounds better in my opinion.

2) the tips look fine. i like angle cuts better too though.

I love the look of the tips, I don't care for the angle cut ones. Though keep them waxed once a week specially in between the tips as they will rust, they're chrome.

Mark, do you know anything about how their flow compares to the dynomax though?

On dynomax's website they claim they flow a lot better than flowmaster and borla (they show charts and stuff) but I don't know where hooker would lie in there.

Did you notice much difference when you put your system on?
