Long tubes and clearance
I hear a lot about long tubes are the only way to go so thats what I really want to do, but the car's gotta be streetable (incline driveways, speedbumps and all) so, obviously I'm worried about clearance.
I know this has been beaten to death, but I heard some guy talking about using poly motor mounts that raise the motor about 1.5". I figure that this could positively impact ground clearance with longtubes. Anybody have experience with this or have an opinion.
Honestly, I'm just trying my hardest to find a way to put longtubes on my car without worrying about clearance. Thanks!

I'm running long tubes with poly mounts. I don't have any good pics of the ground clearance but I'll get some within the next 2 weeks. In any case ... you MIGHT be able to get an idea of the ground clearance from this quick video ...

I have the Mufflex Y-pipe mated to the flowmaster force II catback. No cats. The Y-pipe had to be modified by a local shop because it tucked up TOO close ... maybe a result of the poly mounts pulling the motor up? Not sure.

LTs............
I have had LTs on my IROC for 2 years now, I have poly mounts too......I drive the car about 70 miles a week on all types of roads. I have scraped the y-pipe once!! Only once. Y-pipe is the lowest part of my exhaust. It's not a problem for me. The lowest part of my car is still the stock front air deflector for the radiator. Like TRAX, I had my y-pipe modded to give a bit more space between it and the crossmember and DS/TA. I did have to dimple one pipe on pass side which rested against the A-frame.
Bottom line, if you drive your car so that you never scrape your air deflector, then you'll never scrape your LT-based exhaust.......
I'd say go for it, especially for a 350 car with a good cam.......

Thanks guys, that's truly a lot of help. Before, I was almost completely against getting LT's for my streetcar but you've given me a lot of hope! Thanks again.
