Starter problem with Headers

With all the posts on headers, I can not recall one complaint about starter motors getting fried by the headers. Am I the only
one who had to replace the stock starter with
a mini one?? Anyone else.

I just put full length headers on my motor and am considering getting a mini starter. 3 of the 4 primaries run within about 1/16 from the starter. I have the starter wrapped with a heat shield so hopefully that will help. We shall see!

Summit has a nice mini, its the one I picked
up. You may as well order one, because a 1/16
clearance you are cooked. advice from one who has been there.

I ran into some heat soak problems last summer where my car wouldn't start for awhile after being shut off while hot, but that was it. I'll probably look pick up a starter solenoid remote mount kit if the problem returns. I've had the headers (Edelbrock TES) on the car w/ the stock starter for over a year though, and the starter itself hasn't had any problems yet (hope I didn't just jinx myself)...
