3/4 headers too much?

Are the 3/4 SLP headers too much for a 305 TPI(no peanut cam)? Note, I will be adding new heads, manifold and blower in the near future. Until then, I was wondering how the 3/4 headers would effect performance on a stock engine. Thanks.

Do you mean 1 3/4 inch primarys? I had them on my 305TPI for awhile before I switched to the bigger motor. I lost alot of low end torque with them.

I think they'd probably be a little bit too big for the 305. The TPI motors do a lot better down low, and the 1 3/4 primaries really kill the low end. You'll still pick up power with the 1 3/4, but I think you'd be happier with a 1 5/8, especially if you do a lot of street driving...

There's my opinion on it...

Actually, you might be ok with them once you add the blower. But, I still think 1 5/8 are plenty, especially if you're doing a lot of street driving with it...
