will longtubes fit?

i need some headers to make my drivers side dipstick work. i can get a set of hedman shorty headers for a descent price and a guy i know can make me a y pipe for cheap. but i can also get a set of longtubes for 20 bucks, un-known brand and un-known what model they fit. i am going to look at them in the next day or 2 so how do i know if they will fit my car? how are they supposed to look? where do they bend and how long are they? and how bad is the ground clearence issue if you run strait douls? thanks alot

If you look between the engine and chassis, you'll find the only "hole" is towards the back. That's where the tubes have to collectively run.

I seriously doubt the headers are for a 3rd gen application. Inexpensive headers go into 1st and 2nd gens, Novas, Chevelles, Impala, etc.

so they have to be made specially for a 3rd gen? no other models will work? even if your making your own y pipe or duals?

Yup, they have to be for a thirdgen, but hedman makes them that only cost something like a little over $100 so if you could have your friend bend you up a y pipe or duals for that you could go that route without getting too expensive.
