This gets asked all the time I'm sure...
My muffler fell off the other day, so I pretty much need a new system. I am going to keep stock manifolds and cat for now, but I want to get a flowmaster muffler. Any type you can recommend... I am going for the loud, mean sound, but still toning down on the rip. I also want to put on borla Tops, preferably double twin tips. Does anyone have this done? and if so does it look ok? I know it would look good on a bird, but I dunno about the maro.

If you really have to get a Flowmaster, I'd go with the 2 chamber crossflow. Not sure of the series #.
I had one and changed to a 3 chamber with a single 3" out the left side with a stainless 4" tip and a resonator. The car sounds mean as hell!
If you prefer real loud and tough sounding go with a single Dynomax Race Magnum and single 3" outlet on the left. It will be loud and powerful.
Its really a matter of personal preference. If you have to have "duals" out the back with the crossflow muffler, then so be it.
But if you want more power and a unique sound, go with the single outlet.

I would look in Jegs or Summit magazine. They have the flowmaster muffler specifically for a thirdgen, and they sell borla tips. Yes it looks bad *** on a camaro, you cant really beat a borla system.
Anway the muffler is around $80 after shipping and stuff. The tips were about $70 for each double sided one. $150 + 80 = $230 + exhaust shop work so around $275 - 300. For that price you might as well just go with the Edelbrock Cat back. It has a lifetime warranty, nice tips, great sound, and costs $275. You could prolly put this on yourself since it is a bolt on system. I know people are gonna tell you flows are the way to go..... but they dont have a lifetime warranty, plus the kit with pipes that go out each side are $325. Or you could shell out a little more and just get the best exhaust you can buy with a lifetime warranty.....BORLA!!!! (you wont have the tips .... youll have the whole system then)
