Could gutted cat throw code 23???

Could gutted cat throw code 23???
I can't think of any other reason. I know my TPS is working fine, checked it quite a few times and it's pretty new. I believe the MAT sensor is fine too. It was relocated a long time ago and never threw a code. The only new thing is the gutted cat so I have to think it might be affecting the o2 sensor which is single wire, and might be making this code, what do you all think? Thanks.
