catalytic converter is crazy

catalytic converter is crazy

ok...mine makes sounds!! it rattles when it heats... what could have caused this??
oh and to replace it, the line going into it(rather tiny tube), what exactly does that thing do?

Just gut the cat.Youll be happey you did.Im pretty sure the small tube has somthing to do with smog but I could be wrong.

ok ok gut the cat...how am i supposed to do that? also, Indiana doesn't have state inspections on vehicles so it doesn't matter if i have the cat or not... does gutting the cat make it to where it acts like it's not there?

The tube pumps air into the cat to help burnup the exhaust. If you gut the cat stuff a pipe into it to keep the flow smooth. The inside of the cat is like a perforated ceramic brick that the exhaust runs through with the little tube cutting through the middle it's basicly an exhaust filter. Use a hammer and spike to knock the ceramic out or just replace it with a pipe.
