Will the exhaust manifold on a 305(stock) mount up to a 400 sbc and

Yes, but be for-warned, you'll be chocking your 400 through the exhaust. It will get you by until you purchase headers though.

I believe the late model 305 had an extra bolt hole for the exhaust manifold at the end of the head (passenger side) that may cause a sealing problem when using an earlier model 400 head.

I seem to recall an adapter being available but can't remember where.
