Louder than a Stang???

Hey guys, I have a 305TBI right now, I was thinking of putting on a Flowmater American Thunder exaust system on, I will get a 3 inch cat and y pipe, will the car sound anywhere near the sound of a Mustang? I want a mean tone, thanks alot everyone!

I love the way Mustangs sound....but yeah anyway, the American Thunder will make your car sound pretty nice and probably a little louder than a Stang.

Mustangs & F-bodies don't sound the same, no matter what muffler you stick under the cars. Mustangs have a higher pitched more "whiney" and "gurgled" tone, while our cars have a "deeper & more throaty" tone, more trucklike, you might say. Anyway, I have a 3'' cat-back Flowmaster system on my 305TPI, and it sets off car alarms & makes itself heard right up there with the best Mustangs!

A good cat-back exhaust will definitely give you sound boost.....but it won't be really complete until you get headers installed

Plus on mustangs the two mufflers resonate off each other , which is where they get there gurgled sound from , most two muffler cars like that will have a similar sound , a buddy of mine has a 70 olds cutlass with a olds 350 in it , he did exhuast last year on it with metco mufflers and it sounds just like a mustang. but a little more deeper sound
