headers and y-pipe

I'm looking for some headers and a y-pipe for my 350. I was considering the Hedmans but from what I read on the boards, the y-pipe is crap. I don't have a lot of money to throw around so what do you recommend?

The Hedmans of course... that Y-pipe wont affect the performance of those headers.....

I heard the y-pipe goes from 2.5" at the header flanges to 2 1/4 after the pipes connect. Is this true? If so, won't that hinder performance once you get up into the 400 hp (at the flywheel) range? I don't make that kind of horspower right now but I hope to in the future and don't want to buy new headers later.
