Flowmaster ?

Whenever some1 posts something about should I get a borla (example only) or a flowmaster it seems that people seem to recommend another brand instead of getting a flowmaster why is that? I have a flowmaster and I love it.

I don't know why, I have the 80 series on my Iroc and I think it sounds real throaty on my car, I also have the big 4" tips too, so I am sure that helps the sound some. I am thinking about rying a 40 series on my car and just having the single outlet to the left of the car. Is this worth it, or is the 80 just as loud as the 40? I have heard it is the same thing as the 40 series only it is a crossflow muffler.

o please don't put a sinlge tail. I saw a z28 like that ahhh looked like a 6 and looked like crap. Ya I've heard people say that the 80 is like the 40 only the 80 is a crossflow. I think thats a wives tale. I have 40 on my truck sounds ALOT louder then the 40. But the trucks a 350 with gutted cat but still a 2 chamber 40 to me has to be louder then the 80.

Well, maybe I will just not put any tip out the back that you can see. I have heard the 40s and they sure are sweet sounding. My Iroc has no cat and I am fixing to stick some headers on, so it should sound pretty good with the 80 that is on it now. I wouldn't want my Iroc to look like V6, that would be sick. If it is worth it for the sound, I will try and conceal it, or make it look like one of the SLP cat-back systems with the 40 series on it.

the 40 is a really awesome muffler. I wish flowmaster would make a crossflow 40 . A guy at a local speed shop was going to put on a 40 on my camaro , not sure what he was thinking of doing to get 2 tails but I ended up putting the 80 on myself .

you could also put a 40 series on and also have a cutout before the muffler. Thats how The borla adjustable is. put another pipe on the cutout.

I think Flowmaster does make a dual outlet 40 Series.

I think that flow you are talking about is for a truck with the 2 pipes coming out same end of the muffler, unlike the crossflow style. I like the idea of running a second tailpipe off the I-pipe and running the other off the muffler, sounds like it would work. I wonder if I could actually find a shop that would try it though?

I have the 40 with dual outlets on my truck. if you could get tails bent (that would be something to see) it could work but don't trust me .
