didn't the IROC's come with a larger exhaust? My 88 SC has a 2 1/4" exhaust stock, I think the IROC's had a 2 3/4" system.

 

Yeah i my freind had an 88 IROC and it had a much bigger I-pipe than my 88 SC, which was just replaced yesterday with all new pipe and an 80-series flowmaster. He actually had the same thing too, just with the larger pipe.

I'm kind of two minds about this 3 inch exhaust business. Here's why.

In the July 2001 GM High-Tech Performance they feature a supercharged 95 Z28 that does the quarter mile in 11.077 seconds at 132 mph. He used 1 3/4 headers into 2 1/2 inch mandrel bent H-pipe and out through Flowmasters.

The majority of this guy's exhaust is 2 1/2 inches ... and he's almost in the 10s!!!

wow that does seem pretty small for almost going in to the 10 but as i see it if some stock cars came with a 3" exhaust then any v8 sould at least have a 3 inch

 

2.25-2.5" DUAL exhaust
3.0-3.25" SINGLE exhaust
ALL production 82+ F Bodys have a single exhaust. Just a dual outlet muffler.
