header clearance issues
header clearance issues
i have ac delco 7mm replacement plug wires for now.......when i get headers will i have to buy something to keep the wires off the headers? i know if they are touching they will burn through but what about burning through when they dont touch....anyone had problems like this??? also will removing the smog crap(all of it) make it easier to get to the plugs?

Use 90 degree spark plug wires.....you should have about 1/4 to 1/2 inch clearance between the boots and the headers. Coated headers will also help keep the heat down. Its what I have and no problems so far.
Removing the smog stuff won't give you much extra space assuming your headers already came without the AIR tubes.
You can buy wire looms for a good fit, but properly cut wires and some tie-wraps can do the trick too.
