I plan on getting headers and a high flow cat. I have a flowmaster muffler and stock exhaust pipes. Where should I put the cut out, before or after the cat, and is it a good idea?

To allow a cut out to do what it was designed for, put it before the cat. It's a good idea if you have a legal use for it. In other words, country roads to drive on, or using it at the strip. Uttr wize yer gonna hav da cops after ya.
