strange smell when i push my car

Transmission: T56/TH350
strange smell when i push my car
when ever i go 3/4 to full trottle i get a rotten smell from my cat. i can smell it all around my car. my dad said "it is the cat and it means the cat is working. and its just fine"
it doesnt mess with my preformance but its just a bad smell.
is the cat bad?

Does it smell like sulfur? You may just have bad gas. Hah.. that sounded funny. You could try changing brands. When was the last time you changed your o2 sensor? Running rich can cause this, it is somewhat normal.

well. i just ajusted my rocker arms about 2 weeks ago but they should be set in correctly now. ive been using chevron for about a year. and i havent changed my o2 for 2 years. maybe i should swap that out.. i dont want to spent too much money over this because im swapping to TPI in less then a month. but for now i just want to get this smell away. but if the cat is not bad then its probably the CFI. it always ran like crap.
