Why aint it loud?

I just my exhust work done and I am happy with it, but it isnt whut I was really hoping for. Here is what I have. HedMan 1 5/8 headers. High flow Cat. 2.5 inch pipe. Flowmaster 80 series. My friend has practially the same set up execpt he has a dynomax muffler and his is sooo much louder. I know I wont get the race car sound but at idle you cant even tell I have an exhust. Anything I can do to it? I want some heads to turn at lights.

try no cat..but I would wait a little while before you do that..If you just got the 80 it can kinda "break in" I've noticed mine has gotten louder since I put it on..which was like 400 miles ago. Some people say they do some people say they don't..I think mine got louder maybe its just me. BTW what brand cat did you get and where did you get it?

I need the cat for emission. The FlowMaster is a year old. The heads, and Cat are a month. The cat is a Catco that I got from my local exhaust shop.

mine took a couple months to break in. Maybe your car doesn't have enough soot or something to coat the inside or however it works

Chris,
the cat and the 2.5 inch tubing are killin ya...make yourself a nice cat eliminator pipe and have it so the cat will slip fit back in for inspection...a 3 inch intermediate pipe would also make a HUGE difference...hmmmm want mine w/ muffler???

Just got the 3 inch pip on today....it is gettin alittle louder. The guy at the shop says I need to up the tail pipes to like 3, 3.5 inchers. I aint crazy about round tips but I am thinking maybe 4th gen tips. Who the heck knows. My buddy Has a 305 same as mine. Time to check EBAY!
