I am running full length headers and have no room for y-pipe or regular mufflers. The tranny x-member is in the way. i can however run the pipes under the tranny mount and put on two of those dynomax bullet mufflers......that is what i really want to do.....put turn downs about 3/4 way to the rear tires and it will be set up like a drag race exhaust....i just really hope it wont be too loud. the dynomax site says they are FOR RACE ONLY but i think that is because of emmisions, but Kansas doesnt have those smog checks. what do you guys think??

 

It's going to be loud with longtubes and bullet mufflers. Especially with the high C.R. you have. I'm running dual exhaust with shortys and hooker aerochambers and it's pretty loud. Not obnoxious (sp?), but loud enough my dad doesn't like driving in it. This summer I'm gonna put longtubes and bullets though with my new engine I'm going to build.

 

Do you think that it will be too loud to drive on the street? keeping in mind i dont drive it everyday, but there are some pretty loud street cars running around here (there not just ghetto cars with chopped off mufflers either) i just want free flowing and to be heard, but legally.
PS what kind of motor are you planning on building.

 

I don't think it will be too loud, just as long as you don't get on it when cops are around you shouldn't have any problems with being legal. (It's only illegal when cops are around... ) I'm going to build a 383 or 400 w/ 10:1 compression, XE274 cam, and vortec heads if I can get the guy selling them to email me back.
