Some exhaust questions

hi,

my first question is: can I use the edelbrock TES headers from the 350 on my 305 TBI. I've read, that they have a bigger diameter and I should use 'em, because they are the same, but on the summit page there is a warning "not for tbi"

so, what's true and what's wrong?

next question:

what this be a good combination:

edelbroch tes, hooker cat-back an some kind of a high flow cat (what would you say is the best cat, I have no idea!)

/mkay: forget the first question, I've read the moderator's thread at the beginning!

All TES headers are 1 5/8. The 350 versions have the 3'' y pipe, which is what you want, the TBI y pipe is only 2.25'' I believe. I'm not sure why it says not for TBI, makes no sense to me.

I had a similar setup , but I had the LG4 TES headers, hooker cat-back , and a replacement cat. Sound clip in the sig, with a near stock 350 cept for exhaust.

I've heard your soundclip and that's the reason why I want the hooker
mhh, 1 5/8 is there such a difference to 1 3/4?

I think edelbrock is also just a company which wants to earn money, but with this methods.....

they say not for tbi because those headers dont have the provision to attach to the thermostatically controlled air cleaner that comes on tbi engines. When i had a tbi in my car i tore all that off and didnt notice any difference at all.
