I don't think the fit of either would be bad... as far as i know, both systems fit really well, but SLP stuff won't void your car's GM warranty

SLP will want top dollar for there exhaust plus you have to buy all the hardwear ie... bolt, gaskets adapters for the cat(s) . I was very upset to find this out about them.

I have researched exhaust for a while and it is obvious that SLP want top dollar for their stuff. Regaurding warranty, yes it does not void it but I dont know of any third gen that are still on warranty. I think?
I am considering buying SLP exhaust because I should be able to buy it at cost. Does anyone know if there is a significant difference between SLP and Edelbrock headers?

Alot of users on this board have had problems with Edelbrocks that weren't coated.

I opted for the SLP headers for quality reasons, I did not go w/ the SLP cat-back exhaust because I did not like the tips that exit on the driver side only, so I opted for the 3" Flowmaster American Thunder w/ the dual 3" outlets.
If you want headers I would suggest looking at the SLP's or the Hookers for better quality, as for the cat-back, this is more of a personal preference because as far as performace gains they are all pretty much the same.

Yes Hooker makes smog legal headers. You are going to want the 2055's. You can order them from Jet Hot for about 550.00 shipped to you. Thats a really good deal on a really good set of headers. If I hadnt spent my entire tax return on suspension I would of gotten a set of those direct from Jet Hot.

Mac makes a very nice header for the third and forth gen cars. They are priced well also. check them out. I'll look for the web site and post it.

I have/had a SLP cat-back on both my old 96 WS6 and my 89 TTA. Both installed straight forward. They sound the best of any exhaust out there. Its very mellow and not loud but deep.
I have the 2 on the left on the TA. But I "Borlaized" the one on the WS6. Just have a muffler shop put a header flange right before the muffler. Make a tailpipe and get a matching tip from SLP. Mine looked just like a quad tipped SLP, which what I was going for. But it was completely adjustable and sounded great.

Went with the SLP 1 3/4 Headers with air and a Catco cat plus the SLP 3" Catback System. All Stainless Steel for life and good sound and that 2 OTL tips.

SLP headers are without a doubt in my mind the best headers you can get. i have a bunch of pics on my web site in my sig of them if you want to check 'em out.
as far as cat backs, i am giong to give the nod to SLP as well. they ARE more expensive though, but it is a one-time investment. in my research, i have found that i like the sound of the SLP better...it doesn't seem to be as "snappy", if that means anything to you.
other than that, it depends on how you like the exhaust tips to be...either both on driver's side, or one of each side.
