Will This Work

I have the chance to buy some T.E.S headers for a good price, but my question is will these headers that are for a 88-92 Thirdgen with a 5.0L TBI engine work on my 91 Trans-Am that has a 305 TPI?

Might want to send Edelbrock a message. In Summit there is only one for 89-92 and it is for 5.0/5.7 with dual cats. I don't see any listed in Summit for tbi but they do have one for older carbed 3rd gens. I have them on my car now. Just a note I had to lift my engine an inch or so to get the passenger side on.

the TBI ones will work on the TPI but they have 2.25" pipes going to a single 2.5" cat. The TPI specific headers are dual 2.5" to single 3" cat. Its up to you if you want the small exaust on, but they will work.

Thanks for the input. You helped me make up my mind. I will just get some for a TPI car.

If they are cheap enough, you can just have a shop make a new Y pipe. The Y connection on the edelbrocks is a very bad design anyway. Flowmaster makes excelent "Y" connections that the shop can use. Check it out: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=11556
