1 3/4 long tubes??
1 3/4 long tubes??
I am planning on putting headers on my 86 z28 and I new a little help. I want long tube with no air hook-ups. What would be the best set for me to get? I don't want to spend too much money on this, like $200 or so.
I am planning on remaking all of my exhaust, what would be the best way? I was thinking about trying to have it come out the side, but now I am thinking about having it run pretty much like stock, but with out converters and with a flowmaster cat back muffler. Thanks

What induction do you have? If a computer is involved, you'll have to include an O2 sensor in whatever exhaust you end up with. With long tubes, a heated type is typically recommended.
You can get Hedman long tubes for less than the price you quote. Won't be 1-3/4" primaries, but it isn't likely you'll need 1-3/4" primaries. More than likely, they would hurt you, especially with long tubes. The Hedmans are 1-5/8" primaries, which is more like it.
You aren't going to complete this project for $200, unless you have access to pipe bending and welding equipment, and free materials.

I have stock now but I am putting on an Edelbrock Performer intake (2101), a Holley Street Avenger 670 cfm carb, a non computerized HEI, a 6a MSD box. The engine is a rebuilt 305. Thanks for your information. My buddy said I should have 3" y pipe from the headers together and run it thru a cat back flowmaster and have 2 1/2 out. Does that ok?
