Edlebrock tes w/ custom y pipe for dual cats?

I picked up a pair of edlebrock headers and a y-pipe for a single cat car, however my TA has dual's. I was thinking that I could have the shop cut the Y-pipe and weld it to the stock pipes in front of the cat? What i was wondering if anybody had pictures of the pipes that connect the cats to the headers? I wanted something to show the exhaust shop guys. Thanks in advance.-Mike

I also have dual cats and TES headers. No pics though but what you're saying should work. I got rid of my stock pipes from close to the oil pan to about 2" before the cats. they were able to bend it the same way as the old pipes.

It lowers back pressure dramatically over one stock cat (good for 5-15 horse) but if you use an aftermarket cat, one might be as good as two, but two never hurt (except in your wallet).

Here is a link to an ebay auction for a dual cat setup along with slp headers. There are several good pics you can take to the shop.

Also, take a look at my thread on edlebrock headers. There is a lot of weld material that you can remove to improve your performance with the edelbrock headers. I've got pics to actaully show just how much I removed, and the welding we did to help reinforce the headers.

Ok....I too just bought a set of the edlebrock TES (dual cat) headers for my 91 Z28. My headers have not yet been installed..so...for the guys that have these installed..did you notice much power? I mean...they say they can add up to 22 H.P. or something like that...did you guys notice much? Seems like you would if they produced that much....

I sure as hell noticed a difference. Makes me wanna take my car to the track just to see how it does with them and the rest of the minor mods I have.

That's exaclty what I'm looking for...I mean..so far...I have one the TB bypass, and I installed my ram air boxes..I mean...I notice a little difference..but..nothing major....I'm going to install my 52MM TB soon too....not sure if that will do all that much either....but....with headers...I'm hoping to get that "in your seat" feeling out of a set of headers...
