Bye Bye SLP

Well I finally got tired of the same side dual outlet, thought it would grow on me but I was wrong. Next exhaust Dynomax with 2 3/4 intermidiate and opposite side dual 2 1/2 outlets.

Yeah...having both pipes on one side is definately an eye-sore...Thirdgens arent ricers, and therefore should have TWO large pipes instead of one. All hail dual exhaust

You have the SLP catback, the one that's not loudmouth??? I've been trying to find someone with this What does it sound like? Nice and docile at idle but screamin at WOT? It's between the SLP and Hooker Header catback right now, I just can't decide. The SLP is stainles, but on one side, but the Hooker is on both sides, but aluminized. Let me know what you think of the SLP, all the lil quirks and what u liked and didn't and so forth. Thanks

Yo, I hear nothing but the best things about my Flomaster opposite side exit exhaust.. you might want to consider it. It's a perfect fit, is beautiful, and makes my car sound like it's running 13.7's instead of 14.7's.

Have you ever seen a car with an SLP "2 on the left" system? Have you ever heard an SLP "2 on the left system"? Do you know how innefficient crossflow mufflers are? This "*****" crap is getting real old.

why would you get the 2.75"?? get 3". They put a flat spot in the over axle pipe that will make it 2.75" anyway.

Hey Hg, The SLP doesn't ever gat really loud but sounds very nice. The fit of mine wasn't exactly how a $400 cat-back should fit but it worked. My car was a 1991 Formula with the rounded bumper so the look wasn't what I had in mind, This morning I just put it on my friends 90 IROC (man of steel on the boards) it looks awesome on his car.

So it doesn't get too loud under WOT either? How is it's sound compared to the stock exhaust?

How inefficient are Flowmaster crossflow mufflers and where did you learn this from? I have the Flowmaster crossflow and think they flow very good.

It's better than stock, but not as good as a straight through design. It's also not as good as the Dynomax crossflow, IIRC. Just a fact of exhaust systems.

I think the bottom line is which is more important. First a cross flow is good but not AS good. Second, you can't get a 3" out on the same side as the "in" so you gotta go witha 2.5. Of course, I agree, you don't get the awsome dual tip look either, which is definitely cool. I personnaly like the single tip just cuz it's different...

A tech at Flowmaster provided me with that info. The Force II single outlet out performs the American Thunder system. Crossflow mufflers are simply inneficient. The design is a pacakging comprimise like shorty headers. They are around because most people prefer the dual exhaust look. The FM crossflow kit may work well but an SLP or FM single will allow more HP.
