Give me Five guys!

My car is finally in the shop as I
write this, should be done in the next
couple of days,getting Chrome edlebrock
tes headers, Dynomax High flow cat, and 3" flowmaster exhaust put on!! I can hardly wait!

P.S. A quick question for you guys! My car is a 91 firebird with a TBI 305.. do the 350 motors sound deeper and louder than the 305's with this configuration I have.. or is there much difference, and if there is.. is there, why is that exactly? and what could I do to make it sound more like the 350's? anything?

thanks!
later!
Excited, and nervous!

I don't think there is much of a sound difference if any. Many people who have heard my exhaust asked me if I had a 350.

Well, I paid 525.00 to have it all
installed. but thats..

1. removing everything, including stock exhaust manifolds etc..

2. installing headers, y-pipe, cat, muffler, exhaust etc..

3. and I had them put all new high performancec spark plug wires maded for headers, and had them install a kit I bought that makes the wires run real neat and organized, like you see @ carshows and stuff.

I took it to this Auto Clinic called
M&M Auto repair, they are just a auto
repair shop, but they are really cool
there.. their only rule was that I had
to have the CAT or they couldnt do it,
but I wanted the cat anyway, I think
smog laws are only gonna get stricter,
besides, the CAT I chose is a Dynomax High flow cat.. what puny ammount of restriction it does have is probably beneficial for back pressure.

well, he means there is more cubic inch
of block, and a bit more diameter piston chamber etc, bigger better cam than the 305 has.. I know that for a fact atleast.. but
my question was really.. it's not THAT much bigger, so why such a huge difference in tone??? IS it the cam that causes that? or is the firing order different? I heard that the firing order on mustangs is why those 5.o's have that cool rumbly sound they have.

Actually my old 305TPI TA sounded pretty damn mean with TES, a gutted cat, dynomax 3" catback, and a mild cam (208*/212* @ .050", .462"/.480"). You really couldn't tell if it was a 305 or a 350 from the exhaust sound. The exhaust note will be slightly different due to the extra cubes, but it has a lot to do with the design of the exhaust and the extent of the mods that have been done to the engine.

I believe the cam is definitley the biggest contributor to the exhaust sound. Change to a big cam in a 305 and it will rumble like the big boys!
