Jegs Sells Side Pipes, Why not on a 3rd Gen?

Every car I have ever seen or heard with side pipes has been awesome, both to the eyes and the ears.

Jegs sells them, anybody ever tried it on a third gen?

I still have a scar from being burned by a motorbike. I can't imagine the same from a v8.

Third Gens have enough ground clearance problems without sidepipes. You'll get burned getting in and out of the car, probably also when you crawl underneath it.You have to find a way to hang from something other than the plastic ground effects.Too many problems, not to mention the fact that they've really kind of been "out" for twenty-five years.Do yourself a favor and leave the sidepipes for the led sleds and street rods.
Just my 2 cents.

I get your point with the ground clearance. But who really cares about "Out"? I've never seen a set of a Rice Burner and those are "In"!!!

I think you're right about the clearance though..

Don't know how side pipes would look on the car, but exhaust that dumps in front of the rear tires might be cool. Afriend of mine has a 96 Mustang that dumps there and it sounds BAD *** !

I have a scar from one of the sidepipes on my shelby cobra replica. Of course, once you make that mistake, you never make it again.

I think pipes are cool as long as you do them right. The SVO stangs with pipes integrated into the sills look really good and they're insulated so they don't burn. The other cool thing about pipes is that you can put spark plugs in the ends of them and have a real fire breather!

I never burned myself on my friends Vette.. sidepipes and a roll cage!!. it was a 78, ya'll just picture a guy that's 6'4" getting into one of those(one of the cage bars goes diagonally across the door area.) I'm only 5'8", I still have no clue how my friend got in and out of that thing. hell it still baffles me. I couldn't picture sidepipes on a 3rd gen. Just my $.02
