Hooker 2055 ?

I have come up with some extra cash and can afford to order some Hooker Super Comp 2055's at either summit or jegs. Summit has them for 359 but ceramic coated they are I believe like 679 or so. My question is should I go ahead and order the 2055's with the black finish since I can afford that now or would it be worth getting them ceramic or even jet hot coated from Jet-Hot. My setup is below with the next biggest mod being new carb/intake manifold and msd ignition. I need to know asap because I may get some parental help with the funds if I decide on it this week. So black finish fine with my setup or get the funds for ceramic coating? Thanx everyone

It isn't the "setup" that determines the need for ceramic coating. The coating prevents corrosion and reduces heat loss into the engine compartment.

I believe you can order the headers directly from Jet Hot, although I don't know the price. There was a post a while back that included the price.

Foregoing the ceramic coating is one of my few regrets with the mods in my sig.

So do many temp problems arise with not going with ceramic or jet hot coating? How long do non-coated headers last before they start to go into heavy corrosion? I wanna finish my exhaust system ASAP and I got the chance to do it now but if its gonna cause some future problems then I will save up for the coatings be it ceramic or jet-hot. What is your personal experience?

Hey.......

Can you get those without the AIR crap on them? Would it be cheaper?

If I could get a setup like that for ~$400..... I'd be so happy I'd pee pee my britches. :lala:

Those are some real nice headers, I just installed a set and they fit real good!
Too bad they don't make them in 1 3/4"

What kinda spark plugs did you use? I'm debating on whether or not to order the Accel shortie plugs from Summit.

Hooker does not, since they are offering these as emissions-legal replacement systems. If you don't want the A.I.R. tubes, you'll have to have them cut off and welded shut before they are ceramic coated. I have no idea if Jet Hot would agree to do that, so you'll probably have to buy the headers, do the modification, and then send them to Jet Hot.
