What engine and induction do you have?
Headers will have a general tendancy to lean out the mixture. The feedback computerized systems typically adjust for that, though. Depending upon which induction you have, you may have simply driven the system beyond its capability, which is probably an indication of something that was about to go wrong, anyway.

Fuel pressure comes to mind. Have you changed the fuel filter lately?
