Getting them in is the easy part.

Hooking them up is another story.

Mount them to the engine before you install the engine. That's the easy way to install the headers.

The headers will not hook up to your existing exhaust, or any other exhaust available on the market. You'll have to hack up your existing y-pipe, or have one fabricated by an exhaust shop.

Mounting them in a different car will do next to nothing to aid this process, except take up some of your excess time.

I think what Matt is saying is that he has a non-computer controlled induction/igniton system.

You may have to plug the O2 sensor port, but that's no big deal.

Im planing on takin out the computer system so i dont need all that sensor ****
i would rather have each sensor set up by itself to its own gauge
rather then workin everything through the computer

let me know what you guys think about this

Perhaps we're not on the same page here.

"Sensors" are input to the computer. The computer uses the data to send control directions to the fuel management, ignition, and emissions control systems (richer, leaner, more spark advance, less spark advance, EGR open or closed, etc.). Examples of sensors are exhaust oxygen, coolant temperature, throttle position, manifold vacuum. The computer also sees ignition trigger pulses to determine engine speed.

"Sending units" provide voltage to various gages (oil pressure, coolant temperature). Eliminating the computer controls will not affect any gage.

The only way for you to eliminate the computer is to switch from the factory electronic fuel injection to non-feedback carb and distributor.

you may want to take a closer look at the y-pipe problem, it will prove very difficult. a shop will charge a fortune to make you a custom made mandrel bent y-pipe, and a crushed bent y-pipe will restrict the exhaust greatly, which defies the idea of high flowing headers. stock y-pipe is crush bent, so don't try and salvage it. and if you try searching this problem, you will find that their is
NO SOLUTION to this problem. the ypipe will cost you more then the headers.
