dual exhaust

has anybody here ever tried this idea of mine? i don't know how cool or corny it might be but i thought it would be cool to give it a shot. well here it goes i got hooker longtubes and i thought about ditchin the cats and putting in a set of flowmaster oval mufflers under each floor and having 2.5" pipe exiting either in front of the rear tires or trying to route it over the axle.
any feedback would be extremely helpful. well thanks for takin the time to read this.

You can easily do that. I had that setup for about 6 months. I hated it. The sound was AWESOME but it sucked. Ground clearance becomes TERRIBLE. I lost my pass side muffler to a man hole cover when I had duals.

It also makes the car shake violently. I wouldnt recommend doing it. You can but single 3'' has made me much happier.

been there done that.............sorta

i have that setup and test fitted to my car because i still need to work out some bugs

ground clearance IS pretty bad with it

your going to need hedman's universal extensions from Jegs

whole setup cost me less than $250

I'm running hooker shortys to 3" aerochambers and exiting before the rear wheels. The passenger side muffler sits where the cat used to be and the dirver's side muffler sits right under the floopan (driver's feet). I have it tucked up pretty good so ground clearance isn't too bad. Just have to be careful going over large bumps and going too fast over hills (like 65+ on country roads). I haven't had a problem with mine so far, I did scrape a couple times after I first put it on until I figured out what I could go over and what I couldn't. It's worth the reduced ground clearance though, it makes my stock LG4 sound like it has some power.

I don't know what you would do, but I am looking at finding some leg-burners for my Z28. Here is the problem with doing it that way. I am 6'3" 240# it is kind of a challenge to get my frame down into the seat of a car. Now factor in that most sports cars sit lower than most cars. I am starting to think that it might be a wise decision to maybe jack the back end up just a little bit maybe have it ride 1.5-2" higher than the front. That I think would give me the clearance that I need. Still thinking...
