headers for a 350
no smog you say? well, there are 2 ways,
one would be the easier way, i think, and get a set of shortie headers w/o AIR tubes. Tons of companies make them, it all matters on how deep you wana dip into the bank. Heddman makes the cheapest ones at something like 110 for shortie headers, and they sell a y pipe that fits right up. hooker also sells a set, but no y pipe. SLP makes shorties in 2 sizes, 1 3/4 and 1 5/8 primaries, where the rest all make them at 1 5/8. They are stainless steel and look very good and flow very well, but with all that goodness comes with a price as they are higher then the other 2.
2nd would be getting long tube headers. Hooker, Heddman, and several other companies make them for small blocks. Just get one made for thirdgen fbods... I know that hedman makes a good set, so does hooker. You will need a O2 bung welded in if you want to maintain computer control... if not, just go strait back. Drawback to LT's is that you lose ground clearance, and if you need a y pipe, its gunna have to be custom made, but companies like mufflex are starting to make y pipes for LT's. You could just fab up a dual exhaust, and not worry about y pipes.
With both of either idea, its a smart idea to get them coated if budget allows. It cuts down on engine bay heat dramaticly and will look good too, better then rusty a$$ manifolds or rusty headers. Hope this helps you with your choice. Just look for ones for small blocks in thirdgens... you will be good to go.
