Alright, I started to pull the smog crap off tonight. From my searchs, I learned that the pump should just fall right out when I take out the two torx bolts. Wasn't the case, even with a little "convincing". Is there other bolts somewhere? I'm sure I'll have more frustrations along the way, so I'll just post 'em here.

Did you remember to take the belt off?
I wish I could help you out but I took my pump off like 5 years ago and can't remember for the life of me how is was fastened on.

after i took the metal tube hooked off the back of the pump, i lossened the pump pulley, then pulled the belt off, after that pulled the pulley off, then got the two long bolts holding the smog pump. i dont recall any more bolts. but it didnt really slid out, my trusty screwdriver did the trick.

well, i finally got the pump off, but it took a few hard hits with a hammer, not just prying it like i tryed before. Then, look what showed up in big box marked jet-hot
now my only problem is those damn clips that are on the manifold bolts, any tips on getting those off?

Just work at them. I'm not 100% sure what everyone means by "clips", but whatever they are, I must have encountered them within the past week.
Anyway, just work at them. If you have any problems, post them, its been my experience that everyone here is more than willing to help.
BTW: Get some penetrating oil.
My only other suggestion, Make 100000000% sure you are fully on all of the bolts. The manifold bolts are not incredibly hard metal for some reason, they like to round off easy.

update: stuck the manifold in the vise, and got the o2 out no prob. got the other collector bolt out, y-pipe was gone. then i started on the passenger side. i got the first 4 bolts (front to back) out no problem, but that 5th one didnt want to come out. after about 4-5 hours of beating the **** outta the heat shield, it finally came out. got the passenger side off finally, install starts tonight when i get home from work, hopefully it will be easier. also, i bought some moroso wire looms, the instructions say youre supposed to use the stock hardware, my stock looms were on the heat shield, so i need to know what size bolt do i need for the hole in the head? heres a pic of what im talking about
I had to grind out clearance for my Moroso looms on my hedmans before I sent them off to jet-hot... Did you position one to see if that loom mounting hole is still exposed? I can post a pic if you'd like to see....

With my Hedman shorties.....pass. side went in with ease if I tilted it certain ways as I lowered it in (starter out I think)..... on the drivers side, I started by taking off the steering column bolts (inside firewall ) to move it over out of the way...didn't move much and wasn't making progress, only scratching the jet-hot....so I took a break....Heard too many stories of how much these columns move so I went back inside the T/A and sure enough found a column bolt I missed.... This thing moved big time afterwards....header dropped right in, but had to bend some brake lines.......not sure if I bent them enough..... Also I had the valve covers off thinking it made a little more space.... good luck with them

well, right after i posted the above, me and my dad went to work. we just decided to jack up the motor because it would be easier that way. pulled out the mount bolt, had to convince it with a crow bar to get them out, but they came. jacked it up a little, they still didnt want to fit, so we went higher. didnt undo the steering, or take off the valve cover, got that side in from up top with not much of a problem. went to the passenger side, no way to get it in from the top, tried the bottom. either the bellhousing or the coolant line that runs on the frame rail were in the way. went up a little higher with the motor, but the fan switch was still in the way. went up a little more, finally got it up there. now all i have to do is the plugs, wires, cap & rotor, fuel filter, and change rear-end fluid, and this project will be over. i just decided forget the wire looms, im not pulling these things out again, so anyone want to buy them? i painted them black with some high temp paint because the blue didnt really look all the good
Was taking pics of the brake line / header clearance anyways so I thought i'd post this....If the looms are like these, they might still work for you by doing some trimming and using sockethead screws

What is that wire loom above the flange bolted to? I've never seen bolt holes there, on my 305 or 350. You drill and tap 'em yourself?
