exhuast question

I took my car to the shop today because the exhaust was for some reason getting so loud, I couldn't stand to drive it. It turns out there was something wrong with the muffler, but it is much better now sound wise. It was an SLP muffler with a 3" single pipe going in, but 2 pipes going out. They installed a Flowmaster 40 series with one 3" pipe going in and 1 3" pipe going out. What is better for performance? The setup I had or the setup I now have?

Probably before but I'd say the Flowmaster will do fine. Which sounds better IYO??

I do not know to be honest with you, what sounds better. Right now, I am just happy that the 'loudness' is gone. It was just overbearing. Fuel fumes were also getting into the cabin which made my eyes water. At WOT, the flowmaster sounds like it's gonna rip someone apart though! I never thought i would have ever wanted any of my cars to be quieter! It sounds very healthy right now, but you can still have a conversation with a passenger (or yourself) if the windows are down. You couldn't do that before unless you yelled really loud back and forth.

Yes ... www.tannercreative.com/firebird

Crazy? Maybe.

The Reason?

I just got an all forged 8.5:1 468 big block and a built TH400 that can handle 1200 hp (with and hd converter to go with it) for a very good price. The BBC was balanced and blueprinted, and made off of a Lingenfelter recipe. I will be putting an F1R procharger on it to make some SERIOUS power I think I'll get something like an IROC to put the blown rat in.

I have nowhere to store the motor, and would have had to have someone else to do it. Talk about an expensive ordeal! But man I do miss that IROC.
