actually there website is very nice, but you are right in the fact it has no info on the Fbody stuff...I have the kit and it is awesome!..You can only get the system from one of Banks' dealers and not from banks direct.I would try contacting speed demon motorsports @ 281 866 7000 ...They carry the Banks f body stuff and their prices are good.Another place that does alot of Banks stuff is ENTEC performane @ 801 265 0903 I think?..One of those places will be able to get you hooked up!...Let us know how you like it if you decide to get it

Subzero- how would the banks exhaust sound on my stock LG4 with no cats? I have heard a flowmaster 80 series on an LG4 and did not like it. I guess what I am looking for is something moderately quiet and I already know banks flow is godly. So how do you think it would sound? By the way, do you have any soundclips?

i've been meaning to get a sound clip, but haven't had the time..I will get one up soon!..Now as far as the no cat thing I really cannot say for certain?..The banks kit emits such an authoritive yet civil sound to it even without the cats on it I really don't think it would be too bad..I personally don't like the flowmaster sound oon much of anything and the Banks kit has a COMPLETELY different sound to it and does not have that annoying drone inside either...That is about all I can tell you right now,but I will work on getting a clip up soon

I've been trying to get a banks system with no luck.
I contacted Husker High Performance and they do not carry 86-92 Banks Exhaust.
Thanks for the new contacts Subzero...I will call tomorrow.

crazynights~..I also saw that exhaustproslinc.com carries the banks system for the 4th gen f-body..I am sure they can order the one for your particular application as well...Strange,they are part of the husker high performance group....oh well, try ENTEC or speed demon...I am sure they would be eager to take some Green $$$ off your hands!

I ordered my system direct from banksengineering about 4 months ago. Just call the number on the web site. You have to talk to a sales rep to order the system. If you have a single cat system you can tell them that you need the system # in my sig. This is the style with both out on the drivers side.

The system is great. I will try to record the exhaust today.

Well you must really be busy because when I was looking for my exhaust you said the same thing. JK!

Here is the sound file for the banks exhaust system. It is very easy to have a conversation in the car while driving. (relatively quiet, nice purr) When you get on it is not overly loud in the car, however, you can hear it a good 1/2 mile away!.

The sound file was recorded with my camcorder strung out the back on the bumper above the exhaust. It has a very directional mike so this is the best I could do.

You will hear some changes in the sound becaue I edited it down to just get the various sound while driving, it still ended up being almost a 2meg mp3 .

Well I did it, I ordered the Banks Exhaust. I ordered the 86-91 3" slipin cat exhaust, pn 49111.
I ordered the exhaust from Entec and Eric is a great guy. When I called he told me that Banks was putting out a new exhaust for the third-gen crowd...he then said can I call them and call you back...sure I said...so he called me back and Banks did change the exhaust, the outlets are now 2 1/2 versus 2 1/4, this is what Eric told me. But he then didn't push the sale at all and I said I'll order it. It's around $300 but the shipping is what kills...$50!! But I figured with everything Eric did for me I'll order it...anyway should be here in 6-7 working days. If anyone is interested in Banks I highly recommend Entec #801-265-0903!!!!

they have 2 pipes on one side (drivers)..or you can order the system with the 4th gen muffler setup that has one pipe on each side and just modify the hanger to fit the car (which I did)..

chio~..yes they are oval in shape, very similar to the GP...They are fully polished on both sides exiting the muffler, but I suppose where the welds are on each side about 8 inches or up from each tip someone could cut them off there and then re-weld any type of tips they would like...why?

I recvd the Banks today. It's a nice set up. Again the p/n is 49111 for 86-92.
My questions is it does not come with the bracket that slides over the "I" pipe that bolts to the convertor. Where can I get this piece? It is a 4 bolt flange type.
Did anyone else have this problem?

Well I called banks and after telling them they do have a p/n #49111...I was told that they stopped making that flange 5 years ago. The guy I talked to went to the shop to see if they had anymore and was told they don't. So, I'll hit a local muffler shop and pick up a flange..no bigee...but for anyone interested in the kit. It does not come with the flange.

Man that cat-back looks sweet BUT, do they make one for the dual cat cars??? Or I guess you could do a little fab work and make it fit......Which place has it the cheapest????

Subzero is right, give Eric or Ken at Entec a call. They will answer any Banks questions you have and can get the Banks system. It's a very sweet looking system. I really dig the twin pipes on the drivers side, gives the car a sleeper look and according to the Camaro Performance Handbook this is a better way to expell the exhaust than with the crossover muffler type...I don't know how true that is but this system, IMO, is the perfect system for my tastes.
