I wouldn't try to put headers in if you don't want to lift the motor. Its a PITA in the first place.

Lifting the engine is not necessary when installin most headers. My shorties slipped in just fine after removing the accessories. Longtubes or SLP's could be a different story though...

Hooker, hedman, slp, and edlebrock seem to be the ones everyone seems to get... hooker, hedman, and slp all have different types, where edle just has one set for various small blocks. hooker and hedman both have long tubes, and hooker, hedman, and slp all have headers that come with or without AIR tubes. SLP is the most $$$ out of the group because theres is stainless. Cheapest would have to be hedmans with there y pipe.. all together, i think its under $300 before shipping. thoes are with out air tubes. You can get them coated for extra. SLP is the most, coming close to $800-900 for a set of 1 3/4's coated w/ air tubes and install kit. Some people have problems with the install, but it hasnt stopped anyone from getting them in eh? No one said that all this stuff was gunna fit like a glove and be perfect ever time.. its hot rodding... make it work.
