are these long tubes or shortys?
i put shortys on my 350, no need to remove the steering shaft at all. we just tilted the engine back a tad and work em in there

one the inside firewall there is 3 support bolts at the column behind the firewall pad...take 'em out. Also 2 sliding adjustable bolts at the dash and column.....loosen those.... column should swing over considerably.....you might have to bend your brakelines out of the way

From: out of my mind; be back in 5 minutes....
Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
Remove the through bolt on the driver side motor mount (11/16 and 5/8 wrenches); then using a jack, put a block of wood between it and the oil pan and raise the engine up 1 or 2 inches...much easier than messing with 3 or 4 bolts, 2 nuts, and a bunch of screws...
