No Shop wants my car!

I have my Hooker 2055's on with my CATCO 3inch cat. Every exhaust shop I have gone to is not willing to make 3 inch pipe for my car. Before doing headers I had a cat back system with a reducer on the muffler. So my cat has a 3inch outlet and my muffler has a 3 inch inlet, but no shop is willing to make pipe for me because they can not mandrel bend it. They told me that if I get some pipe they will install it for me.I am just trying to avoid buying a whole new cat-back system because I am hoping that getting pipe will be cheaper than a whole system. It just seems more trouble than its worth at this point.

So where can I get a Mandrel bent piece of pipe from the cat to the muffler but not a whole new system?

The shop told me that I can order a piece of pipe (from cat to muffler) from a pontiac dealer for a 01 WS6 that it should fit.

I don't want 2-3/4 exhaust or 2-1/2 or whatever crap they tried selling me at the shop ....I want 3 inch!, so what options do I have?

Thanks
Jason

If you wanna go cheap look into the dynomax cat-back. I think it is 150 plus you could install it yourself pretty easily. It may not be 3" though. but a quick call to jegs or summit will answer that. if you just buy a 3" pipe they will still have to fab it up to your muffler and cat. That may cost you more then just getting a cat back.

Do a serch for dynomax intermediate pipe or a few things along those lines, you can get just the two pipes from summit for around $130

Cool, I found the part numbers in a search. Now in the description of the parts at summitracing.com it said: intermediate Pipe 3" 86-91 Camaro/Firebird 5.0, 5.7 4V, HO & EFI(Code F)

I would assume that it would work for my 92 LO3...right?? or is their some reason that the piping wouldn't fit?

Thanks

I called like 4 shops in Richmond and no on would fab up mine, But then I found a local tire and auto place in a small town 20 mins away that did my whole system. From headers, to a 3 inch y pipe, 3 inch catco cat, 3 inch I-pipe with a dynomax bullet muffler installed inline and then over the axel and spilt to duals, All mandrel bent for $175, I supplied muffler and cat. It was almost half the price an ACTUAL exhaust shop quoted me to do 2 3/4. I'd say call some local shops and see!

Is it 20 minutes towards richmond or farther away cause if its closer to richmond I might check it out if not I dont want to drive 50 minutes just for an exhaust shop. If it is close to Richmond you wouldn't happen to remember the shop, I've been looking in the phone book and there are tons. any info will help

Thanks

Roy Hendrick's muffler shop. I think it might just be known as THE MUFFLER SHOP, now though. BTW, nice to meet you man. We should chill some time and go to the track again. I wish you had sound clips of your car in here cause damn man, it sounds sick, absolutely sick! I loved it! Oh and, if roy can't do it then i would just order the intermediate pipe from summit and have him install it.

I am surprised to hear that no one would fab up a Y pipe for you. I had mine custom bent and installed and they welded up the entire exhaust for $200. I called various speed shops and even a local Mineke(sp?). They all would gladdly do the work. Maybe having emissions laws where you are changes shops attitudes towards custom exhaust work...

Roy Hendrick wouldn't split it to duals for me, They swore I had to have a crossflow muffler. They said they would look at it but probably couldn't.And I really didnt want to trailer it 30 mins for them to say no. This place I found is in Louisa. Short Pump exhaust and a few other I called wouldn't fab up 3 inch. Hendrick might work for you, If you want info on this place in Louisa, lemme know!
