Yes, they do. Its not as much as people think though, and they can actually sound really good if done right. My cousin has a pair on his '52 Ford and it sounds awesome behind a flathead 8. No popping either.
yeah thats cool i just put it on my camaro last night i thought it would be alot louder then it was but my friend said its because there new there no popping eather sooo thats good thay dont sound bad for the money i paid for them for now anyway how long do you think it takes for them to breaks in.........

don't want to wait for them to get louder over time, drive the car till it gets to operating tempurature, drive it home, ahve a friend shove a garden hose up your tailpipe, as you sit in the car and floor it. It will blow out all the fiberglass inside, makes it sound mean and deep w/o the popping.

when the glass packs get real hot, you flush cool water down them, and the fiberglass crap inside the muffler breaks apart from the rapid temperature change (I guess), and when you hit the gas, all the broken fiberglass particles fly out.
I don't think this will work on the newer glasspacks, unless you can find an oldschool brand that uses material thats not as strong.
you could also probably fill it with gasoline, and light it to burn off the fiberglass packing. (wouldn't do this while it's on the vehicle).
