Trying to get the correct Hooker kit
Trying to get the correct Hooker kit
I am new to this site, so this may sound like a stupid question. Which number in the vin code is the one for the engine? I went to Hookers website, and the cat back systems are specific to the engine code, but i'm not sure which one I have. I have a 91 GTA with a tpi 350, and dual cat's. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hooker is made by well...Hooker/Holley I believe, Hooker is like a sidebranch of Holley. If I'm not mistaken. And Hooker is a great sounding exhaust to me, check out some sound clips on site. I made my decision and I am gonna buy a Hooker cat back whenever I get that water pump fixed. Buy Hooker, they sound great.
Thanks for the input. I have noticed alot of f-body people have the hooker exhaust. I just hope it sounds the way I think it will. My cousin has a 2001 TA with nitrous modified heads, headers, and a big fat cam, with a $700 corsa exhaust system, and that thing will wake the dead at anything over 1200 rpm. It's loud, but not obnoxiuos. I have also noticed that alot of people think the flowmaster system sounds obnoxious. What do you think?

Different people like different things. Some people hate flowmaster, some here love it. I personally don't like it too well. We have it on our 90 LX, it sounds pretty good, but to me, its not the same as Hooker. Some hate Hooker, some love it, like me.(the sound, thats all I can give you input on for I haven't yet got it.) The only way you can decide is to go to the Sounds section on the main page. That is what I did. Good Luck!!!
