i have a 84 trans am with a 5.7 in it. i want to get a loud exuast for it eventually. something loud enough to wake up the neibors but not loud enough to get pulled over. i thought it might be kinda cool to have a side exuast on it but i dont think there is enogh room but let me know thanx

 

Every person will tell you that their exhaust is the best sounding one in the world. I would tell you to lissen to sound clips of them and try to hear them first hand. I got the Borla. What i liked about this one is the fact that their are different plates that you can to control the sound of the car. It has a real nice sound to it when you take off and a soft idle. It was a good step for me and now i am placing headers into the car which will increase it sound. I have also see T valves. It is something that you can open and close inside the car. This comes out before the cat i beleave and it is real loud. The options are out their and its up to u...Good luck

 

if ya want the best of both worlds ("normal" exhaust, and ***** out loud) then get an electric cut out.

how does that electric cut out sound on you car. Did you put it in and what type of headers did u put in if any? Where is it located in the pipe line?

 

I have Edelbrock Headers, and mystery heads (don't know what they are).

There was no straight place in the pipe to put the cutout accept further down right before the rear axle. So it's only bypassig the muffler, not the cats.
