how do u tell what size headers are?
I am going to this guys house to look at some headers that he has. I want 1 5/8, how do i tell what size they are? Is there anything that I should be looking for on these headers to make sure they are in good condition?
most likely if they are alittle rusty then they are 1 5/8 if they are direct fit ones for thirdgens.
slp makes stainless 1 3/4 and 1 5/8 shorties, so if they are shorties and have some rust on them u could most likely count out slps.
they could be edelbrock, headman, hooker, etc.. most of them are 1 5/8 tubes anyway.
i would check for any cracks, bad rust areas, dents, bends, definitely check for any bending at the flanges where they meet the head at (use a straight edge to check that).
