I saw a vid of a linginfelter twin turbo corvette engine running on a dyno, and after about 20sec at WOT the headers and turbo turned the headers into RED hot pieces of metal. I dont know how the O2 sensor survived but it was increadable to see metal get that hot.

the exhaust gas temps change depending on alot of factors... mostly how rich or lean you are, or if you are burning fuel in the exhaust....
most of the time, that "1,200*F" stuff burns off... im assuming you mean the "high temp" stuff they sell everywhere.... right?
look on the can, thats peak temp... sustaned temps are only like 300* or somthing low like that...
