well, chain saws arent really for cutting metal, they dont like it much. you could use a sawzall or similar tool. its probably just rusted on there really good.

Cat removal

Josh,
This is a fun task. Autozone rents an exaust pipe cutter that will go through your pipe in about 5 seconds. Nice smooth cuts that are easy to weld. I went through the same thing a few years ago. You will need to remove the entire cat from the car. I thought I would take the back off and punch it out, didn't work. The entire thing must come off. Then I just welded it back on. Good Luck

jesus... what kinda car guys are you... its called a SAWZALL cause guess what? it SAWZ ALL!! its safer then a chain saw, and less damaging then a 10lbs sledge! I took me oh... 5 mins to cut out the old cat. just dont snap the blades cause they hurt like a ****.
